In the past, installing a window outside of a structure’s insulation layer has been a difficult, costly, and often an impractical task, despite the potential energy efficiency benefits of such an installation. However, we have found a solution to this problem with a system called SoudaFrame from Soudal.
SoudaFrame uses low-conductive, fibre-composite (FRP) L-shaped extrusions that can be quickly assembled into a frame that provides structural support for heavy triple-glazed window units. The system also includes a proprietary shimming system that accelerates the window installation process. Additionally, the SoudaFrame ensures airtightness by using high-performance tapes to connect the window to the structure.
This system is suitable for both new construction and retrofit projects. Site assembly allows for a high degree of flexibility, and it can easily adapt to issues that may arise during the construction phase. Thanks to SoudaFrame, we can now enjoy the energy efficiency benefits of installing windows In the optimized location within the insulation layer without the difficulties and costs that were once associated with this type of installation.
